About ApricotKing

Since 1946, the Gonzales family has grown the rare and fabulous California Blenheim apricots. Grown on our Hollister ranch, we continue to be the farmer, pruner, dryer, packer, and seller of the vanishing Blenheim apricot. We produce the best tasting apricots in the world all "Home Grown in the Flavor Zone"!

In addition to our incredible dried apricots, be sure to discover our variety of nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds) and other dried fruits (peaches, pears, prunes, and more). For those who believe less is more, we have dark and delicious unsulfured dried apricots. And don't forget our sweet and tart selection of apricot jams and syrups as well as our decadent chocolate covered fruits and nuts.  Simply delicious! Everything here on the ranch is organically grown.

Enjoy!

Simply Slabs 2025

"Which apricots are the sweetest?"

The answer to the question:

SLABS...ALWAYS SLABS....

Slabs have the highest sugar content of all the apricots because they're longer on the tree...picked when they're soft and overripe.

Ours are machine cut, paper-thin, and delicate...even though they're the most labor intensive to produce.

These cots are separated from the rest of the pack by their unique color and flat-ness.

Blenheim slabs are the ultimate #1 choice of apricot aficionados everywhere!

Low in sulphur, so eat them, or refrigerate.

I buy 3-5 packages give them to family members. We like t slip pit, but will take any of the other kind also.
I started buying from Apricot King because they are the best. My market has only Turkish dried apricots which has no flavor compared to Apricot King!

  8. Slabs!..a funny name until you taste one

Posted by Thomas J. on Aug 29th 2020

Many who may see the name of this dried apricot may not know just what they may be missing. When growing up on an apricot farm, I rememberer so vividly the slabs. They are the ripest cots in the bunch. They typically fall apart as soon as you pulled them from the box because they are so soft and ripe. When you laid them on the trays, they would resemble a spoonful of apricot jelly more than an apricot. And once dried, these were always the sweetest treats. These are little treasures that can sometimes take a little more effort to deal with as they would make a mess during cutting and drying...but the lucky ones who got to eat them were always rewarded with the sweetest of natural treats...enjoy!

  9. The apricots of my childhood - found at last!

Posted by Jeny on Aug 21st 2020

I have been tasting dried apricots for last 30 years hoping to find ones similar to the ones I had as a child. I'm a Bay Area baby and back when Cupertino still had apricot orchards - my grandparents had a small fruit orchard in their yard - where every summer I recall our homemade apricot drying slab system. When lest Cali in my teen years and I've never had apricots like those since until yours. Literally your apricots brought tears to my eyes - these are true, pure, the California way of dried apricots. So thank you, thank you and I've already ordered my second bag!

  10. My Husbands favorite fruit.

Posted by Denise Powell on Aug 18th 2020

These cots taste just like home! I married into a farming family in Vacaville, CA. Their main crops were Blenheim Cots, English Walnuts and Burton Prunes. Sadly, the Walnuts are long gone, and the orchards are seriously aged after over 100 years of farming. We now live in Southern CA, and it's been 20 years since we've tasted that wonderful flavor. Glad to see that your orchards are producing so well. I plan to be a repeat customer, at the insistence of my husband. Thank you!!
