About ApricotKing
Since 1946, the Gonzales family has grown the rare and fabulous California Blenheim apricots. Grown on our Hollister ranch, we continue to be the farmer, pruner, dryer, packer, and seller of the vanishing Blenheim apricot. We produce the best tasting apricots in the world all "Home Grown in the Flavor Zone"!
In addition to our incredible dried apricots, be sure to discover our variety of nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds) and other dried fruits (peaches, pears, prunes, and more). For those who believe less is more, we have dark and delicious unsulfured dried apricots. And don't forget our sweet and tart selection of apricot jams and syrups as well as our decadent chocolate covered fruits and nuts. Simply delicious! Everything here on the ranch is organically grown.
Enjoy!
SlipPits (Gourmet 14 oz)
Back in Aug 2025 when new crop arrives
Not every apricot can grow up to be a SLIPPIT.
Gotta be extra-large, plump, flawless, and ripe.
We save the best Blenheims of the day for slippits............the Cadillac of our Line.
These luscious slippits are dried whole in the sun.
After 3-4 days, the pit is gently slipped out.
That little bit of extra roasted-in-pit time, gives the slippies an extra pizzaz and unique flavor.

These slip pits are moist, soft, and absolutely delicious!
Our mornings begin with handfuls of fresh walnuts and apricots...both from Apricot King! They’re an experience you’ll enjoy! -
Supreme Dried Apricots

Along with Simply Slabs, these are the best dried apricots you can buy. The taste is rich, tart, and not too sweet. The texture is tender with a bit of chew. Compared to Simply Slabs, SlipPits are not as tart, more tender, and more visually attractive. These are for eating out of hand.

Best Walnuts ever!
Posted by Deb Williams on Mar 15th 2019
I so appreciate the Gonzales Family Orchard's produce...top quality. I originally started purchasing from them at the Farmer's Market in Morgan Hill. So when I moved to Oregon I started having products shipped to me here.
I have been ordering my walnuts, and apricots, here for years. They are so fresh and have a wonderful flavor! My family enjoys eating them right out of the bag but they also go into all my baked goods. It's a real challenge to keep enough on hand throughout the year. When I order online, I usually have my shipment within a week. Thanks so much! -
A little bit of heaven in your mouth!
Posted by Michael Rose on Dec 22nd 2018
Okay, I am biased...I have bought from the Gonzales Family Orchards for years...beginning at a Farmer's Market in California. I now live in Washington and still buy from them. I use the diced apricots, and their dried Bing cherries (the low-sulfur) for making biscotti and have reviewed them before. But, the "Slip pits" are the best for snacking. A whole apricot with the pit pushed (slipped) out, then dried...and they are one of the best treats I could, or with, for. If you have never tried them then do yourself a great favor and take the plunge...or take the bite, your taste buds will explode...in the best possible way, that is!

Slip Pits probably best of allfour things I ordered
Posted by Karen Maihofer on Sep 29th 2018
The slip pits were probably the best, still not as large as before and none of them had that rich deep apricot color and moisture as in past years.
