Day 1 and I'm So Exhausted

Day One :  Cuttin' Cots!

Saturday was our first day of cutting fresh apricots.  We cut 21 bins of fruit for a total of 12,600 pounds of Blenheims in 5 hours.

This is all done by machine, but requires 40 workers to straighten and sort the fruit as it comes off the cutting machine.  Seasonal labor is always tough to come by.   Only 22 people showed up........thus "I'm So Exhausted". 

 We jumped in early for all peeps that have been CLAMORING for our dried apricots.......Give us two weeks to get these apricots dried, scraped, washed, re-dried ,cleaned, packaged, and labeled. 

Change that to three weeks.
