About ApricotKing

Since 1946, the Gonzales family has grown the rare and fabulous California Blenheim apricots. Grown on our Hollister ranch, we continue to be the farmer, pruner, dryer, packer, and seller of the vanishing Blenheim apricot. We produce the best tasting apricots in the world all "Home Grown in the Flavor Zone"!

In addition to our incredible dried apricots, be sure to discover our variety of nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds) and other dried fruits (peaches, pears, prunes, and more). For those who believe less is more, we have dark and delicious unsulfured dried apricots. And don't forget our sweet and tart selection of apricot jams and syrups as well as our decadent chocolate covered fruits and nuts.  Simply delicious! Everything here on the ranch is organically grown.

Enjoy!

French Prunes 15oz

The Santa Clara Valley, known as the Valley of the Heart's Delight, produced the best fruit in the world.

ApricotKing grows the French Prunes from that same area.

The result is big, thick, moist, velvety French Prunes.

They are pitted & delicious.

Prunes are high in fiber and potassium!

We have never tasted a better prune.

  1. French Prunes

Posted by Marilyn on Sep 20th 2020

    So delicious and sweet!

  2. Best Prunes I've ever had

Posted by ApricotKing Fanatic in Mountain View on Sep 12th 2020

There are a few other good prunes I've bought in the Bay Area, but my sources have all dried up (that's right: prune pun!)
But these are simply the best, thank you for making these available.

  3. Never thought I would be reviewing prunes...

Posted by Unknown on Aug 5th 2020

This is the first time i have bought the prunes. When I smelled them, I thought they had a slightly wine smell to them. Wasn't sure if i would like them. I rinsed them off (an old habit I can't seem t stop), didn't see anything in the rinse water, yay! Then I tasted them. Lovely taste, and texture!!! Yippee! Never thought I'd be telling anyone that they are so much better than the ones I grew up with..... the supermarket ones,.....
Don't know if they are a different variety, but by the way they taste, i would say, they have to be different. They should call them dried plums, for 2 reasons. Can't believe it, but some people think plums and prunes are different things, and, the old idea that a prune is ugly and not tasty certainly has nothing to do with these fruits.

  4. Best prunes I have ever tasted

Posted by Unknown on Jul 23rd 2020

These are the most moist flavorful prunes I have ever encountered. I will keep some in my pantry.

  5. Eat them like candy!

Posted by Unknown on Jul 4th 2020

French prunes are soft, sweet and luscious

  6. So moist and flavorful.

Posted by Michele G. on Jun 28th 2020

Not like supermarket prunes, these on the other hand were very moist and flavorful. ApricotKing offered 10% off so I threw caution to the wind. I ordered Fancy Apricots, 8# of walnuts, prunes, almonds and Apricot hot pepper sauce. I haven’t tried the sauce yet but everything else was outstanding. I will order again.

  7. Sweet and juicy after soaking

Posted by Patty Evans on Jun 12th 2020

I like to soak some in water in a jar for a couple of days and then toss them down with the wonderful juice they made. Really delicious.

  8. The best

Posted by Unknown on Jun 8th 2020

    Moist and thick with sweetness.

  9. Luscious!

Posted by Unknown on May 18th 2020

These prunes are my favorite. I "stew" them in combination with slab apricots to get the best from both fruits. I order them online, since my local grocery stores (Boston) do not carry them. Thank you ApricotKing for keeping me supplied!

  10. Moist and tasty!

Posted by Unknown on May 16th 2020

These prunes are like nothing you get from the supermarket. Full of real ripe flavor, and super moist, they are a tasty treat.
