About ApricotKing
Since 1946, the Gonzales family has grown the rare and fabulous California Blenheim apricots. Grown on our Hollister ranch, we continue to be the farmer, pruner, dryer, packer, and seller of the vanishing Blenheim apricot. We produce the best tasting apricots in the world all "Home Grown in the Flavor Zone"!
In addition to our incredible dried apricots, be sure to discover our variety of nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds) and other dried fruits (peaches, pears, prunes, and more). For those who believe less is more, we have dark and delicious unsulfured dried apricots. And don't forget our sweet and tart selection of apricot jams and syrups as well as our decadent chocolate covered fruits and nuts. Simply delicious! Everything here on the ranch is organically grown.
Enjoy!
Red Walnuts Livermore Variety
The 2024 crop is still on the trees..........Not yet harvested.
This is a very unique walnut......it is red.....the meats are white.....
These are the rare and fabulous Livermore Red Walnuts!
UC Davis invented the Livermore Red Walnut.
They released 2,000 trees....only to farmers.
We bought 20.
After ten years of babying them, we got our first crop.
The taste is creamy, the look is unique, and we keep them in-shell until we fill your order.
They are hand-cracked, hand-sorted, and gently packed.
Always store walnuts in the refrigerator, never the freezer.
16 oz stand up gift bag
Out until December when we start cracking 2,000 pounds by hand. Yikes.....

The most flavorful walnuts!!
Posted by Ying on Mar 18th 2024
These Livermore red walnuts simply are the most flavorful walnuts (although the Chandler walnuts from ApricotKing are excellent, too) ! What also amazing about the Livermore red walnuts is that even being baked or steamed, they don't get any less flavorful & they'd still give you that perfect 'crunchiness' BUT NEVER hurt the teeth. Sometimes we'd add few into the blender for smoothies, AND YES, even being crushed/grounded, they taste just as great in the mouths both for flavor and texture!

Very tasty walnuts

We find these have a gentle walnut flavor, minus the tannins and sometimes bitter flavor that brown walnuts sometimes have. The cranberry color is a bonus.

Love these for how flavorful they are.

The texture of Livermore variety walnuts is perhaps about the same as the Chandler one, but these are more flavorful (in a super-delicious way) and absolutely worth a try!

While I thought these were very good I probably will stick with the Chandler walnuts which have been my favorite.

Always a treat!

I was on the site and I saw the red walnuts were available.....a happy surprise so I grabbed three bags. I only seem to catch them every other year or so but they are yummy all the time. Great for baking, cooking (I throw walnuts into soups and stews all the time especially) and snacking.
